Term 3: Wintry Weather
We acted out the story of 'The Great Race', learnt about Chinese New Year and how the Chinese zodiac was created.
We went on a Winter walk and found ice, and frost on the leaves. We explored the trapped animals in the ice outside and talked about how the temperature had dropped below zero degrees.
We enjoyed our ice experiments and predicted which material would make the ice melt fastest.
We used salt, sugar, cold water and hot water. The hot water melted the ice in the quickest time.
Maths
We have been talking about weighing and measuring. We enjoyed making fairy cakes and used balancing scales to measure all our ingredients so that they weighed the same as 3 eggs!
