School Council 2017-18

The school council play a very important role in our school community. They are elected by their peers to represent their views and to lead projects that benefit the school and the wider community. This year they have raised money for some worthwhile local causes including Children in Need, sports relief and various other charities.
The school council supported Children in Need week commencing 13th November 2017 by selling popcorn to the children within the school. On Friday 17th November 2017 we went spotty and the children came to school wearing their spots. The money raised by this event was an amazing amount of £258.45 in total. The popcorn sales made £73 and with children going spotty we raised £185.45. Thank you to everyone who donated to this amazing cause.
The school council took pride in supporting Sports Relief 2018 by going the extra mile doing a sponsored Move a Mile. The whole school took part in seeing how many laps the children could do around the school, which involved each child having a tally card to mark their laps. The first 3 children who completed the most laps in each class received a small prize for their efforts. This was a really successful event which everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and great fun was had by all. Through this event we raised the amazing amount of £1446.43 (WoW!) The school council would like to thank everybody for their kind donations towards this cause.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the fundraisers for the amazing amount of money they have given to the school council to be able to share out with the school as a whole or as classes individually. We are still in debate of how the money will be spent, with possibility of having a school pet " WATCH THIS SPACE!"
Selected children from each Key Stage have been chosen to represent the school at Pupil Parliament in Keynsham on the 13th June 2018. We will keep you updated on how it went.
